What does pink eye look like ???? could this be it .....

my DS is pretty sick at the moment and as i had posted yesterday there was a chance of a hospital visit due to a 103.8 fever

that has now passed but in its wake his eyes are really bloodshot and red and he has very thick yellowish snot coming out of his nose

could this be pink eye ??? and does pink eye come with a fever and snot??

sorry if these seem like silly questions but im not sure as to why his eys are sooo red ..

Does he have that yellowish puss like stuff coming from his eyes? Are they getting glued together by the eyelashes at all? If not, it may not be pink eye but just a side effect of the cold (many people with colds or allergies get red itchy watery eyes).

I thought Julia had pink eye in both eyes, but now I'm not so sure, the Dr gave us antibiotic eye drops and they helped and soon it went away, but came back again in both eyes and it doesn't look like pink eye more like eye allergies now, every time she wakes up her eyes are blood red, so weird.....

ETA: Julia also had a fever and was very congested when we noticed her pink eyes.

no it dosent look all red like this they just seem to have all the veins really visable and the tear duct part is red ??

I would call your doctor. If it is pink eye, it is highly contagious. I've never heard of it being associated with snot but definitely itchiness and a crustiness to the eye, especially upon awakening. I hope he feels better soon, poor little guy.

It is funny because we just went through this. DD was sent home from daycare w/ pink eye on Monday. Took her to the Ped and he gave her eye drops. Yesterday she has a fever at night and today we bring her back to the ped and now she has an ear infection and he says that she probably didn't have pink eye.

My DS had an upper respitory infection last year and he had "pink eye" where he had wiped a boogie into his eye and it ended up pink and yucky.

I think it is reated the same as "regular" pink eye with drops.

Whenever my kids get what I think is pink eye it is almost always an ear infection. It can drain into the eye. I would go to the Dr.
