what does LIJ give you
What items does LIJ Katz hospital provide during your stay there? kotex pads? nursing pads? snacks? side onesies?? (These are items that I've been told other hospitals provide). I'm packing my hospital bag and don't want to pack anything extra that I don't have to.
Also, are nursing tops really necessary if BF? I bought nursing bras but figured I could just wear my comfy Gap maternity tanks so I never bought nursing tops. But if they are a must, I can pick some up today. TIA

They provide the kotex (hospital brand), side snap onesies and food (don't remember if there were snacks specifically). You wont need nursing pads while you are in the hospital - your milk wont come in for a few days, so you will not be leaking yet.
I LOVE my nursing tank tops - I highly recommend them. They are the easiest things when you are BFing. I got the Pea in the Pod brand - a bit expensive, but they have a little padding so they mask your nips and leaks

Thanks for the help! I'll see what nursing tanks I can find today. And then my hospital bag is complete!

They have a little pantry on each floor that has a keurig, water, and some snacks.

You should put snacks in the bag regardless for DH in case your labor is long - this way he wont have to leave and worry about getting food.

Thanks for the tip! I packed some cereal bars, and such for DH, and maybe we'll pack some sandwiches the day of we can.
I also went to buy nursing tanks, and pea in the pod tanks were much better quality than the motherhood, so I bought a few. Looks like I'm all set! Thanks for the help!

Just left there on Monday. They give you pads for the bleeding. They also provide little bottles of lotion, body wash, shampoo and a small toothbrush and toothpaste.
While you don't necessarily start developing the milk right away they definitely encourage you to breastfeed so if it's easier for you to bring a tank I suggest you do. I didn't bring any with me and it was a bit annoying to adjust my top to try and breastfeed.
ETA: Definitely bring snacks for DH. They do have water, coffee and snacks but my DH didn't want to over do it by constantly going over there looking for snacks because he was hungry

I never bought nursing tops...just lift mine up to nurse. Maternity tanks should be just fine; that's what I used. Just be sure they aren't skin tight so they can be easily lifted above your boob without cutting off circulation.
