what does acu do, specifically?
I've read that its good to go before ovulating to help your lining and around implantation.
Since I'm partly lazy, partly trying not to google anything IF related, can you tell me if that's it, or is there more to it?
I'm going to acupuncture for more than fertility reasons , so she just sticks me in my lower abdomen and doesnt really explain anything else. I wonder if I should be requesting more specific treatment. I dont erally know what she's doing and when I ask, she doesnt really explain it good enough for me.
(I know there are other acupuncturists who specialize in fertility but i think i'm staying with this lady because its really convenient.) TIA

My understanding was that it increases blood flow to certain parts of the body.... Which improves the function of those organs. Sorry for the high level explanation-I dont ask many questions!

Yea this is basically my understanding too.... It's also supposed to be relaxing. These days I feel so on edge over one thing or another that I don't really get that benefit I just lay there lately imagining my lining getting thicker and pray that there's a mind/body connection!!

Re: what does acu do, specifically?
it helps move your chi.. if that makes any sense... basically, the acupuncturist figures out what points to use to help the flow of energy to move where it's supposed to. This is based on a series of questions and discussion that she/he has with you before your first session. I started going 3 weeks ago (mainly for stress and anxiety) and it has really had an impact on me. I feel very relaxed and it forces me to have time to just breathe. The place I go to does specialize in fertility so they know where I am in my cycle so that they can assist with building up my lining and all that.. but for the most part, it's for my stress... IF has made me a basketcase! She also gave me a meditation CD and a recommended diet to help with the "flow" of positive energy and to remove toxins.. it's mostly get rid of processed foods. So far I definitely recommend it HTH!
