What do you use to clean your bathroom?

I am ok w/ using bleech in the kitchen because it's well ventilated, but there are no windows in the bathroom. Even w/ the exhaust fan, I am still over-come by fumes. I suffer from really bad migraines and can not handle it. So, please recommend a good cleaner that kills germs and viruses, yet will not kill me w/ the odor.

I use a magic eraser and a daily shower spray. For really though spots I use comet spray bleach. I try to stay away from antibacterials becuase I work in a hospital and it creeps me out to think about all the supergerms we're creating.

Soft scrub is good too.

well, technically, if you wash nonporous surfaces (tubs, sinks, tile floors), the germs will go down the drain. There's no need to kill everything.

yeah, I'd go nuts bleaching everything too.... the fumes are suffocating.... although I will say an occassional dip in bleach is essential to keep the shower curtain liner from going Chat Icon

we clean the bathroom at least once a week. We usually use BAM or pinesol for the tub and sink, and green windex for the glass. the floor gets either pinesol-ed or wet swiffered. we do use a clorox toilet cleaner, though Chat Icon Occassionally we do a deeper cleaning and clorox the showerliner, and use a bleach pen on the grout.

and yeah, that's sooo true about antibacterial products... avoid them! Bleach and alcohol is fine, but antibiotics in soaps will come back to haunt us eventually........

I actually try to use bleach as little as possible. The fumes are horrible for you. Honestly, I use Citre Solve and Dr. Bronners to clean. I know I will never get rid of every germ and as long as I use the bathroom, germs will exist. So rather than kill myself in the process, I try to use natural stuff instead. Smells so much better.

Fumes are why I can't clean bathrooms. I've had asthma attacks as a result. That and I'm lazy and would rather have DH do it. Chat Icon

We've been switching from the usual (clorox, bleach, etc.) to Seventh Generation. It comes in a few different scents, isn't overpowering, and the all-purpose cleaners do a pretty good job.

Other people here mentioned scrubbing bubbles in the past few weeks for cleaning the shower. We did buy it to use once in a while, when we really want to whack that tile and grout and get it super clean. But we haven't used it yet.

Re: What do you use to clean your bathroom?

I use Melaleuca products, they have a product melabrite, bleach alternative this is what they have posted on ther website about there products.....

The world can be harsh. We don’t think your cleaning products have to be. And that’s why we at Melaleuca created EcoSense. Who would have thought that part of the answer would be in not having products in aerosol cans? Beyond the risks associated with the pressurized cans and propellants, the aerosol particles in many household cleaners can be nearly twenty times smaller than the particles created by our trigger sprayers. And, according to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health**, the smaller a particle, the more easily it is inhaled. In addition, the smaller the particle, the longer it will linger in the air. Not only is it easier to inhale smaller particles, but they linger in the air hundreds of times longer. It’s no wonder that Melaleuca scientists choose trigger sprayers for our EcoSense cleaners.

Melaleuca scientists were guided by their desire to create safer products when they developed MelaBrite® (our non-chlorine bleach alternative, and Diamond Brite® (our liquid automatic dishwashing detergent). Both have pH-neutral formulas
