what do you think of this party time/space solution?
DS wants his 4th birthday at the zoo. they have a 10:30 AM SATURDAY party which lasts two hours.
1. do you think that's too early? 2. I would just have cupcakes/cake and drinks during the party. the zoo provides the favors. I was thinking of getting these cute favor boxes and doing a bagged lunch for each person (sandwich, drink, carrots and veggies straws, cookie). this way they can take the box with them and eat it at their leisure and stay at the zoo for longer.
3. if you like the boxed lunch idea, here are my questions: i would do two sandwich choices: turkey&cheese and pb&j (is this ok?) for drinks: small water bottle or juice boxes?
4. i am allowed only 36 people (kids and adults) in the party roomand only get 36 zoo passes. would it be ok to say "1 parent per child in the party room"? how would you say this nicely?
5. do i pay for the extra parent who may come with the child? or do i let them know they can purchase zoo admission on their own and will just miss the party room part.
Thanks !

1. No 2. cute idea! 3. I would stay away from PB&J due to allergies. Maybe turkey and cheese and ham and cheese. Or you can get an italian and american hero and supply the bags. Water bottle for drinks. 4 & 5 I would say something about limited space and additional tickets are x amount

Re: what do you think of this party time/space solution?
sounds fun!!
1. No, not too early.
2. I think the boxed lunch is a good idea, people might be expecting food.
3. choices sounded fine.
4. I kind of think "One parent per child allowed in the party room" is nice enough...
5. The extra parents and kids should have to buy tickets for themselves!!

Re: what do you think of this party time/space solution?
1. Definitely not too early. 2. I think that sounds great! 3. I think those choices are perfect. I would just do the small water bottle. 4/5. I would say just include one parent. I like the suggestion that pinkisles wrote. Limited space available for the guest and one parent. Zoo tickets for additional parents or siblings can be purchased for x amount. There's no reason for you to pay for a whole family but I'm sure some families would be thrilled to take advantage of one child and parent being invited and bring the rest. The other parent and siblings can hang out in the general zoo and meet up later.

what everyone else said, except I would add instead of PB&J maybe give the option of grilled cheese for those who don't eat turkey.

the only problem is there would be no where to grill it. I would have to make them morning of, so by the time they got them the sandwiches will be cold.

1. do you think that's too early? Yes- especially for people who have to travel.
It is a cute idea but I would skip the PB and J and replace it with a nut free option.
4. i am allowed only 36 people (kids and adults) in the party roomand only get 36 zoo passes. would it be ok to say "1 parent per child in the party room"? how would you say this nicely? I would write that due to space limitations you can only accommodate one parent per family.
5. do i pay for the extra parent who may come with the child? or do i let them know they can purchase zoo admission on their own and will just miss the party room part. No. If an extra parent wants to come to the zoo I would let them pay their own way.

Re: what do you think of this party time/space solution?
1. do you think that's too early? - No 2. - I like this idea however if you don't go with it I would probably just do bagels
3. if you like the boxed lunch idea, here are my questions: i would do two sandwich choices: turkey&cheese and pb&j (is this ok?) for drinks: small water bottle or juice boxes? I think the choices are fine the only issue with choices is what happens if you don't have enough of one ... that's what I would worry about so I would probably do PB&J and if a guest as an allergy make them a different one
4. i am allowed only 36 people (kids and adults) in the party roomand only get 36 zoo passes. would it be ok to say "1 parent per child in the party room"? how would you say this nicely? - I would put on the invite due to space issues we can only accommodate one child and on parent.
5. do i pay for the extra parent who may come with the child? or do i let them know they can purchase zoo admission on their own and will just miss the party room part. - I wouldn't pay for them and I wouldn't even mention that they can buy their own. I would hope that anyone who would bring extra children or adults would know that they have to pay themselves. When do you give the tickets out before they go in? If so I would have each ticket in envelopes with their names on it so there is absolutely no question that there are only two tickets for them.
