Re: What do you think about this?
Collecting them and "playing" with them at home - not my cup of tea, but I can see it. However - bringing them out in public - putting them in carseats and strollers and treating them like real babies - I don't know. That strike me as strange.

Re: What do you think about this?
This was a topic a while ago. I think the article in the other post mentioned that some people get a doll of what their child looked like, and some even of children they lost.

Re: What do you think about this?
I'm a bit creeped out. I wonder if these women who collect them were unabel to have children or didn't have them for some reason and are trying to fill a "void". Taking them out in public and treating them like a real infant is pretty disturbing, I wonder if there is some type of psycological issue behind this.
it saddens me.....

Re: What do you think about this?
Saw this yesterday. Creeped me out to be honest. I can see maybe collecting dolls but not bringing them out and about as if they were real babies.

Re: What do you think about this?
Collecting dolls = Hobby
Collecting dolls that are LIFELIKE with the intention of treating said dolls as if they are actual children = Distrubing (car seats? strollers? these are grown adult women, they're not playing make believe w/ their kids ..........)

Re: What do you think about this?
wow i don't think that's normal at all! for some, yes, but for others they're just taking it waaaaaaay too far. the article tries to be informative but you just can't make it sound like some of these ladies are normal when they do things like "order special dolls that are exact replicas of their own children who died at birth or in infancy." it's sad but SO creepy!

Re: What do you think about this?
I saw the BBC special the other night, one woman went as far as to have a mechanism implanted in the doll to mimic breathing.
I think the dolls are beautiful, but as far as treating the doll as a living breathing child, buying it carriages, carseats, clothing etc, is disturbing
