What do you think...

about rehab clinics?
I have read "a million little pieces" and "my friend leonard" in the past 2 weeks and it really got me thinking about alchoholics/drug addicts and rehab clinics...

Do you really think they help "cure" people?

Re: What do you think...

I think for people with severe addictions that a clinic, a rehab provides well first a place to detox and second a set of rules or at least a start in helping them heal. Cure..no...I dont think you can be cured of an addiction..you are always living with it, its just "controlled".

I do think they help because they give people a new start and thats something they couldnt get dealing on their own.

I'm sure they do. Just like A.A. my dad was an alcoholic and he tried so many times to quit. He finally joined A.A. 20 yaers ago and has been clean since then. He ultimately makes the choice of staying clean, but it was the starting point for him.
