my child's school doesn't allow outside food at all. They will actually provide cupcakes/cake. So I just bring in the goody bags for the kids.

All districts are different but our school does not allow this because they can't guarantee that the pans etc. weren't in contact with nuts.

In the past people have brought in bags of chips, fruit, ice cream or ice pops that were labeled.

If we have a nut free class it has to be prepackages with ingredients listed. nothing homemade. I have done ice pops and ice cream cups (and I'll send in sprinkles too) mostly because that's the best of what my boys like. I Justhave to make sure I check the ice pops or ice cream/spinkles because not all are nut free. Many people do oreos (my kids hate oreos though) or those cupcakes in the bakery section of many supermarkets.

My son gobbles these up. You can find them at Whole Foods.

That is not true, BJ's items are not nut free. They sell school safe ones that are nut free. But those are also sold at many supermarkets.

Italian Ices are a good choice.

My DS goes to a Nut Free School. I buy mini cupcakes from Walmart/BJs that are pre-packaged and labeled Nut Free. I've also seen it at Pathmark & Shoprite.

In the goody bags, I will put markers, stickers, mini pads and something like a Fruit Roll up as an edible treat. Alot of chocolate candies have nut allergy warnings so I dont bother. For example, Plain M&Ms. Although, the kids arent allowed to eat or open any goody bags given until they go home.

We aren't allowed to send any food to school. Some parents come in and read a book or bring a craft in to do with the class. DD has also come home with pencils and erasers.

Pilsbury mix and frosting is peanut free according to two parents in my daughters class whose children have peanut allergies.

Yes, Pillsbury is peanut-free. But, some schools still don't allow home-baked goods for fear of cross contamination.
