what do you do with your papers/mail

I am trying to organize our office but it is just a giant mess of papers and junk mail.
What do you do with your mail when it comes? Do you have a filing cabinet or other filing system for all of your papers?

Bills, bank statements (DH, mine come online) or any other important documents go to my filing cabinets after they are paid etc.
Any magazines, I look at, and then usually bring to work to share with the ladies here.
Yankee Trader, grocery flyers etc, get recycled.

I fill all my bills, have a draw in my desk.
Bills to be paid is right in front of my comp so I remember to pay them
Mai, papers to go through is on the front table in living room.

I have something like this on the wall

as soon as the mail come in I put in the top coupon, flyers and magazine. In the middle bills to pay and in the bottom mail I just need to file. Than on weekends I go through everything pay bills etc

I hate clutter with a passion!!

As soon as the bills come in, I put them in date order. All junk mail gets tossed right away. Once I pay the bill on-line I then toss the paper copy in a shredder.

I do 95% of my bills on-line so I don't have allot of paper things to file. I don't get paper bank statements I get everything e-mailed to me.

Things that do need to be filed, I have a 3 drawer cabinet and everything is labeled.

I must be the minority here but I shred everything. I don't save my bills because the majority of them I have online. Just makes more clutter for me...

For bills, as soon as they come in the mail, I setup online payments for them and then chuck them... most of them can be obtained again should i ever need them

Junk mail gets chucked immediately... i reallly do not keep anything except for important insurance/mortagage etc papers which go in a fire proof box

throw out what isnt absolutley necessary.... and then i seperate everything...

bank statements
car ins/payments
other bills (cable, phones, etc)
pay checks

how ever you want to seperate them... and then i put them all in big manilla envelopes and then label the envelopes...

Junk gets trashed/shredded immeditately. Any catalogs I want to keep to look through I put on the coffee table in the den. Bills get filed into this little wood thing we got a long time ago. It has numbers on it so we open the bills and put them into the slot based on their due date. I hate clutter!

ETS: Pay stubs and paid bills get filed in the filing cabinet. We keep stuff for a year then shred it.
