What do you do with your....

bag and keys when you walk in your door?


Our driveway is behind our home (we live on a corner) so we enter through the backyard. When I come in there is our big kitchen island to the left I usually put my bag and keys on the island. I hate looking at it, sometimes I put on one of the stools/chairs but just curious what you all do. My DH puts his wallet and keys right in his office. My office doesnt really have a good place for this stuff.

I hang it on the back of one of our dining room chairs

I would be careful about putting it on a countertop or anywhere that food might be- purses can come in contact with a lot of bacteria

we have a front foyer with a little table. So we put our keys/sunglasses on that

My mom has a glass bowl on a cabinet right by the door.

We hang our keys on the staircase.

I know we all do this for convenience, but it's the worst place to keep them, especially if you're house is broken into.

I am anal about putting things away so when I get home, I put my bag on an end table in the living room, let my dog out then bring my stuff upstairs.

My keys go on a key holder in the front hall closet & my bag goes on a hook in the front hall closet.

I put the keys away in a drawer with all the other keys and my bag in my bedroom.

We have a key rack on the inside of one of our pantry doors, so I hang keys in there. My bag is usually just tossed on the kitchen counter (not the one we prepare food on or eat at)...

DH puts his wallet, phone and takes off his watch and ring and puts it in a little leather caddy thing that we have for cell phone charging. That's on the console table right at the top of the stairs when you come in.

I do the same thing as the poster, right onto the island most of the time. DH with his keys, two cell phones, wallet and whatever else on the counter too. It drives me nuts really. I bought him a caddy, but he doesn't use it. I have to figure something else out. Don't know what though. We don't have any place to put a console table when you walk in the door or anywhere else for that matter.

My keys go into the handbag, and the handbag goes on the floor next to the sofa or on a chair in my bedroom.
DH puts his keys and wallet on his clothing valet.

Keys go in my bag or in my coat pocket....

I usually hang it (or just put it) on one of our stools. When company comes over I take it upstairs to my bedroom closet.

My work bag goes on the seat of one of the kitchen chairs and my keys on a key holder in the kitchen.

We have a key bowl (i know, weird) that we throw our keys in and my bag sits next to it, or on the bartop.

DH puts all his stuff in a drawer in his dresser. He refuses to use a wallet.

on top of my kitchen counter. I used to leave it on a dining room chair (open floor plan) but my 16 month old son LOVES to pull it down and go through it. He particularly likes $$! Smart kid!

on the couch that's right when you first walk in. I unpack everything from my day and pack it for tomorrow and then set it by the door so it's ready to go when I am.

But if people are coming over I stow in the bedroom. We're in a tiny apartment so there's not many options

I hang mine inside the coat closet. We have hooks on the inside of the closet door.
