What do you do with old toys?
For the small toys that dd is outgrowing, what should I do with them? We are not sure if we will be having another child. I'm talking about stroller toys, crinkly toys, hard rattles, etc. is it safe to pack them away or will the stuffing get funky? Thanks!

Re: What do you do with old toys?
I lysol wiped all toys and put them into rubbermaid totes in the closet once DS was done with them. I pulled them out for DD and they were fine. Now that DD is 4 I have donated a bunch of toys and given toys to friends with younger kids.

i would save them until you know for sure if you are/arent going to have another child. if you decide not to, pass them onto a friend/family member. i have a cousin who saved her toys (and clothing) and passed everything on to me...what a money saver

Re: What do you do with old toys?
I cleaned all of my DD's infant/baby toys and put them in a big Tupperware crate in the garage. When my DS was born 4.5 yrs later I took everything out, gave them another quick clean, and now he has a TON of toys in near perfect condition to play with. They held up great. He uses all of her old rattles, teethers, stuffed toys, infant toys, light up and musical toys, etc.
Honestly, IMO they were worth saving because she used them for such a short time that it seemed crazy to get rid of them and have to re-buy all of the same things again for another baby.

This is what I plan on doing as well.

Hard toys you can wipe down or soak in a bleach solution. The soft and crinkly stuff you can run through the washing machine. I stored most of mine in a rubbermaid bin and definitely hope to get more use out of them!

Thanks everyone! Looks like DH will be spending part of his weekend cleaning out our storage unit to make room for more bins!
