What do you do when your kid starts pulling up in the crib?
In the past two days DS has become a pulling up to stand machine. He does it all the time on everything. Especially the crib. We have lowered the mattress but he just uses the bars and does it anyways. This afternoon he fought his nap for 2 hours (with a break in between because I couldn't take it) by standing up. Then he cries because he doesn't know how to sit back down yet. I would go in and put him down but he would just get right back up. I tried leaving him, but then he fell backwards and bonked his head (lightly) on the other side of the crib and WAILED terribly. I finally gave up and put him in his swing. He fell asleep in 5 minutes.
He did not do it this morning - his morning nap was fine. I KNOW he was tired when I put him down for his afternoon nap, we had just come from gymboree, it was his normal nap time, he showed all the signs. I don't know what to do or how to handle it if he continues this.

Normal and they will figure out how to get back down. I never did anything.
They will not get hurt bumping their head

The novelty will wear off in a few days. If he's not napping and needs it, continue the swing until he figures out how to sit down again. Good luck!

I didn't do anything, I let her figure it out on her own.
DD definitely didn't sleep as well for a few days/nights, then the novelty wore off and everything went back to normal.

Re: What do you do when your kid starts pulling up in the crib?
I let her fall on her bum once her legs got tired of standing after a while. She didn't do it much after that fall. it didn't hurt, but it scared her. ETA good thinking lowering the crib. That is what we did too when DD started to show interest in standing. Now at least we don't have to worry about her diving out of the crib.

He won't learn unless you let him learn. He needs to learn to get back down. I would just monitor him to make sure he doesn't clunk his head too hard, but otherwise do nothing.
DS was like this too - he quickly figured out how to get down!
