What do you do most of your web surfing on?
What device do you do most of your web surfing on?
I use my phone for a lot, but it's just so much easier and nicer to surf on my home computer. Multiple large monitors, I like using the mouse, and it's easier copying and pasting on a computer.
When I do surf on my phone, it's usually just one or two pages, and nothing complicated.

Re: What do you do most of your web surfing on?
I have a laptop though I miss having a desktop for the larger screen. I only surf on my phone when I can't get to the computer. Also, I am at the age where my eyesight is not what it was- even though I was at the point where I could expect it, I noticed that my vision got much worse after I had my iPhone for about 6 months. So I try to not use the phone too much for that reason too.

Usually my phone because it's easiest. I really only use my laptop if I'm doing some heavy online shopping.

Re: What do you do most of your web surfing on?
Usually my work computer or my smart phone if i'm sitting on the couch at night.
I have a question though- maybe a computer expert can help me with this one!
So work blocks certain sites obviously- they don't want you on netflix, I get it. Stuff like that. So when I am at work I can't get on this one site I like to shop on- Venus. The reason given is "lingerie and swimwear". I guess they think we are 13 year old boys who are going to get excited on the Victoria's Secret site or the Venus swimwear site!
Anywho, when I am home, working on my work laptop but on MY PERSONAL HOME NETWORK, I still can't get on that site! It still comes up as blocked due to content filtering.
Does anyone know why that would be? I'm on my home network, not a work network. It never used to be a problem either. All of a sudden it is. I even dropped off the VPN to try it. And still, can't get to that site.

If it's a work laptop, they probably have filters on the actual computer, in addition to the network filters, to prevent you from going to non-work approved sites while travelling, or working off the company network.

Yeah I thought of that too, but the kicker- I can get Netflix on my laptop when I'm home.... but I can't get the swimsuit site. Strange right?

They could easily have a "black list" on your local machine, to block any "bad" sites, and block bandwidth heavy sites on the company network. That would keep any questionable material off the computer, but still allow you to use other networks to stream media that is OK with the company, just not OK on their network.

Ah ok, thanks. That makes sense Funny that Venus swimwear and Victoria's Secret would be on the "black list". Evil evil swimwear sites!
