What do you consider a LONG post?

Sometime people put (long) in the subject of their post. Many times, I agree with them. Sometimes, I think "That's not that long....". I'm not complaining about people who do that, and sometimes I appreciate it, so I have an idea of what to expect. I'm just wondering what a "long" post is.

I don't care if it's long or short. If a person has something they need to share or get help with I don't really care how long their post is.Chat Icon

My definition of "long" is really based on what it LOOKS like. If I see more than 8 lines together, I think "long".

But, if I were to see 4 lines, space, 4 lines, space, 4 lines, space, 4 lines, I'd think it was short. Chat Icon

ITA!! If it's one giant paragraph without any line spaces that makes it difficult to read and "long". But if the same information can be written with proper spacing then it's much easier and faster to read, so it doesn't seem as long.

I agree. And since I am naturally long-winded, I use that tactic to make my posts easier to read and seem shorter. Chat Icon

I always wonder the same thing -- some where along the lines 2-3 paragraphs can be considered long.

For me as long as it's spaced properly, the length doesn't matter. If one paragraph fills my whole screen, I move on.

ITA. It can be long as needed, as long as its broken up nicely and doesn't look like one long run-on paragraph that would lose me in the second sentence.

I agree too. Sometimes I have to highlight the MONDO paragraphs by section so I can make sense of them. I try to be mindful of that when I write. I tend to be verbose.Chat Icon

I do the same. Someone on another board begged me to start to do that and I am glad he did. Now I want more people to do it. Lately I have noticed lots of run on sentences or people saying 8 different things with no punctuation. I think I saw a post that was about 16 lines with no punctuation. I gave up reading and never responded b/c it got annoying.
