What do we think of Ped office's new policy?
I am a HUGE fan of my Pediatrician but not his new office staff. Each encounter lately has been putting me off more and more. Then today I receive a voicemail confirming my appointment for Monday and in the same message they say "please be aware that we require a 24 hr notice for cancellations or else you will incur a $40 fee". I was like  at first...but am I just getting fed up with the office or is this a horrible policy? What do you think?

I think that's pretty normal for cancellations for a Dr's office

thats sound pretty normal to me....all of my Drs, ped included have a no show fee.

Sounds pretty standard for offices we use too. I have always wondered if they do it for even your first offense, or on a case-by-case basis if people are ALWAYS missing appointments, KWIM?

My office charges $30. While I can understand charging the fee for no shows....if they tried to charge me a fee b/c, let's say, I woke up the morning of the appointment and had a flat tire, I would be really irritated.
It has been my experience that it's more of a "scare" tactic than anything else. Has anyone else ever been charged the fee?

I think most ped and reg dr's have this policy but they just verbalized it (so at least you know)
