what do i REALLY need
ive seen all the store checklists etc but what do you realllly need for your first child?
i think people get a tad overboard but i dont want to be cheap and stupid either.
what are the must haves for day 1?
what clothes.. how much?
are bouncers, walkers, rockers, who si whatsies all necessary?
am i terrible if i dont think i need a wipe warmer?
id love to hear what you have and couldnt live without and what you have that should have stayed in the box

Here's what I used from day 1 with my DS...
- Carseat and Stroller (Obviously)
- Bassinet
- Pack and Play - I kept this downstairs.
- Swing
- Basic Seat or Bouncy - Just for the baby to hang out in during the day.
- Boppy
- Lots of Onesies, bibs and burp clothes
- My DS was a winter baby, so I kept him in footsie PJs pretty much every day.
- Wipe Warmer is a waste IMO but I def used my Bottle Warmer
- Bottles and Dishwasher Bottle Rack - SO easy to clean them all at once.
- Sound Machine
I'm sure there's more, I will edit once I think of more.

My must have list with DS was:
Car seat
Stroller
place to sleep
bottles
formula
diapers
wipes
diaper cream
boppy
pacifiers
bibs (lots of bibs!)
burp cloths
onesies/pants
swaddle me
I would try to have at least a week's worth of clothes, but more is probably a good idea b/c baby go through 2 or 3 outfits a day for the first few weeks.
Just wanted add that while not necessary I found a playmat and bouncy seat very useful from day 1.

not necessarily want to go bare bones..i just dont want 10,000 items because they are made.
i want my kid to have all it needs but the stores seem filled with stuff that are "extras" at least in my mind
trying to filter that stuff out

i never had the rock and play, or wipe warmer, snap and go, bumbo, bottle sterilizer,
We did have pnp, (used when she stayed in our room until she moved to her crib) and plus b/c we travel, carseat and 1 stroller, (our infant snapped right in and it was never a problem loading into the car, we also had a playmat, bouncy seat, swing, boppy ( my sisiter gave me hers but I would get one, I didn't BF but i loved it to prop them up on), bottle warmer, dishwasher racks to go in the dishwasher, I'm in the minority but I basically dressed her from day 1, but almost all the clothes were gifts, we did buy the side snap onesie type shirts for at first, and had a bunch of onsies for under clothes, lots of bibs (the bigger the better, the ones that match outfits sometimes aren't big enough), swaddle blankets, blankets, we got a ton of bottles so we didn't have to clean them everyday. We probably got enough to last us through 2 full days before running the dishwasher, if formula feeding we loved the dr. browns pitcher. it mixes the formula so well,
sound machine we got late but wish we had got it earlier,

This. I did not use much more than this for weeks. You can always go but something if you need it.

This is WHY I recommended Baby Bargains when you asked before. It's not long, use it as a reference if you really cannot find the time to read it. It will help you TREMENDOUSLY.
