what do braxton hicks feel like and when do they start?
today I have been feeling some funky stuff...nothing terribly painful but a little uncomfortable. I am 29 weeks

you know, I always read they are painless, but mine always hurt.
They can start in 2nd trimester, from what I hear.
I get contractions that start in my lower back, wrap around to the front, and hurt and feel like cramps and it feels like a real contraction. They never last longer than 3 hours for me, and it usually comes on more if I haven't drank water in awhile.
eta: nothing is comfy at 29 weeks and after, either!  thank god we are near the end, right??

mine started at 30 wks.
it feels like the baby is trying to head-butt its way out of my stomach.
my stomach gets really hard.
it goes away after 30 secs to 1 min and change positions to make it go away faster.
my dr said if i get more than 10 in 1 hr to call the office.

I forget when mine started but I had them a lot towards the end...for me it was just tightening in the belly. Quick and they were just very uncomfortable, not really painful. But the belly would get very tight. DD is 6 mo old and now thinking about them - I sort of miss the feeling. Enjoy it while you can girls...it all goes so fast! I so miss being pregnant...that is why I stalk this board sometimes

I haven't had them yet either..............my stomach does feel tight at times, but more like an overstretched muscle.

I'm 30 weeks I haven't gotten them with this pregnancy and never got them with DS#1 either.

With DS I never had any BH.
But with this one I started gettting them around 23 weeks. I remember it clearly because it was Christmas Eve and It was painful enough (for someone who has never felt a contraction) to catch my attention.
If you think you are getting them, up your water intake. With me I usually get them now when I dont drink enough water. i guess I never had that issue with DS!
ETA: For me it felt like a tighening of my entire stomach and then at the very top of my belly it would cramp. It would stay tight for a minute max then release.
