What could've happened? Computer related question

I put in a floppy disk with an address list that was on Wordperfect and I went to open it up...however there is no a: drive to choose, there is c, d and e, but my a drive is not an option...could I of deleted it by accident ?

You can't delete a drive. It might be unplugged inside the case, either the power cable and/or the data cable.

oh boy, what can I do to check it - do I have to open it up? It hasn't been moved or hit or anything..nothing external right ?

You would have to open up the case in order to check it. It's really not that bad. A couple of screws and it slides right off.
