What do I bake a whole chicken in....
What type of pan do I use??? I want to throw some potatoes around it also.

any type of casserole dish or corningware, or a metal pan... Just make sure its deep enough,because there could be a lot of fat... Even better if you can put some kind of rack in there so the chicken isn't sitting in the fat..

I use a roasting pan...I also buy those cooking bags and just through the chicken and veggies in there first then in the pan...they come out really juicy!

I have a rack but what about the potatoes I wanna throw in.....will they get the flavor of the chicken if they are on the rack or will they be dry?

I use my corningware rectangle dish and throw the potatoes around the chicken (and no, I don't put it on a rack).
If you do use a rack, there is one that is kind of V shaped, so you could put the potatoes around that

Sometimes I make mine in a oven safe skillet. I slice the potatoes and throw the chicken right on top. When the chicken is done I put the broiler on and broil the pototoes in the chicken fat for a few minutes. The potatoes come out awesome. Not the healthiest option but it sure tastes good.
