How much breast milk is in your freezer right now?
Just curious how much to store in the freezer. I will be starting work in a few weeks though will mostly be working from home. I have about 30 oz stocked away right now.

It's tough for me to estimate but I'd have to say about 300 (I've been pumping and storing for about three monhs). I have to start using it next week so I'm sure the amount will decrease quickly.

OMG thats amazing!!! You'll be able to give BM for months after you stop BF!!!! Has it been time consuming to pump??? I got frustrated by the whole thing and gave up too easily

I lost about 100oz's after hurricane Dennis which sucked when we lost power for two weeks. But amazingly my insurance company reimbursed me for it.

I actually had more but DH put something in the freezer and it didn't close right so a lot of it defrosted (it had to be used within 24 hours or thrown out).
It's not really that much if you think about it - if he eats 30 oz per day (which is normal) it's only ten days worth if I don't BF at all. It's not that time consuming to pump - I was pumping twice per day, 20 minutes each (double pump). At first I wasn't getting too much milk, but as your body adjusts you get more.

When I returned to work at 3 months I had about 125 oz in the freezer. I continued to pump at work and BF when I was home. The first month was very hard to adapt so we used a good amount of the frozen supply. I was almost at the point of giving up, when my body adjusted to the new schedule and I was able to pump more at work. Claire is 9 months now and we have about 40 oz as back up in the freezer, but we dont need to use it daily, its just for backup.....
