DOE teachers, what GHI Insurance plan did you choose?
GHI-CBP/Empire BlueCross or the GHI HMO? I am trying to see what the difference is but am getting little response from anyone! Thanks for your help

I have used HIP since I started with the DOE in '96. It was not the best at first, but it got a lot better after they began letting in private practice doctors. They also used to make you call them before going to the ER, which was a pain. Long story short, it's pretty good now and there are no co-pays.
BUT everyone else I know uses GHI. I know their co-pays are pretty reasonable. Don't know what the payroll deduction is though. HIP has none.
Your school should be putting up a big chart that has a good explanation of the specifics of the different plans.
ETA- pretty sure most people use the GHI HMO

I use the GHI with CBP (Empire Blue Cross for hospital). They don't deduct anything from my checks for it and I've been very happy with it.
