 | Coindre Hall Dog run We went yesterday for the first time and it was fun! Well, it would have been more fun if my old boy Max hadn't pooped IN THE CAR as we were pulling into the lot and then threw up just as we were getting ready to leave
Bailey had fun runnning around but was not exactly being a great listener
And Max did seem to enjoy himself but I think it was just too much for his legs (which are arthritic and getting worse ).
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else veer goes there - there were a nice amount of pups, all having fun (there were actually a ton of pugs! And Labs)

 | Re: Coindre Hall Dog run I heard the park police were there yesterday threatening people who had their dog's off leash. I've never been there, but I have been going to Blydenburgh in Smithtown...there's a lot of woods where I can take Misty walking.

Glad to hear your guys had fun, it's so nice to see them play isn't it?

Yes, there was actually a woman handing out little flyers and she said the park police had been there!

Is there an actual dog run/park at Blydenburgh or is it just a place to hike?

 | Re: Coindre Hall Dog run There are trails going through the woods to hike and you can take the dog's off leash in the winter. They are supposedly putting in a dog park that should be about 2 acres somewhere in Blydenburgh. |

I have to take Gus here, I'll go on the weekends when I have time to walk around....is there a sign or anything that tells you were it's ok to take them off leash?

to answer someone else's question about how to get to Coindre-it's actually one of Lessing's place (the mansion in front of the park), so if you go to thier website there are directions

 | Coindre Hall Wonderful place. From what i heard it use to be a catholic boarding school for boys that was well known all over the world. I also heard that is was used during the prohibition era by bootlegger Arthur Flagenhamer. Really a great place to go for a romantic weekend. Saw some wonderful exotic animals on the estate.
