What Carseat and Stroller did you register for?

Did you register for an Infant Car Seat or Convertible car seat? Which one?

And which Stroller?

What features should I look for when picking each out. I'm lost/confused Thanks!

I looked up past threads on here, and I bought BABY BARGAINS! It is GREAT. It gives you insight on what features are a must, what is a waste, and good bargains.

From looking at that book and on here, I'm going to get the Graco Snugrider infant carseat with the stroller frame that goes with or an infant carseat and the Snap and Go.

I'm also going to register for a Convertible car seat (since I will need both), and another stroller that is better for longer walks.

The Snap and Go or the Graco one like it seems to be great because it's light and easy to use.

You should definitely go to a store and try the strollers out. See how heavy they are. See how the fold up, etc.

I'm still researching, but that is some of my insight so far!

Thanks so much for your reply, I'm so confused with so many options. I feel like I need a Babies R Us translator lol! I don't even know what a "snap and go" is?

We registered for a regular snugride. We are also going to get a Peg Perego Viaggio 30/30 from my brother, so we can use that if we have a giant baby!

We also put 2 convertible carseats on the registry, but those don't often get purchased (depends on how big of a shower/family you have I guess!).

Registered for 2 strollers - City Mini and City Select (because we're crazy and can't decide).


The things we looked for in a carseat were ratings and weight.

The things we looked for in a stroller were: easy fold, smooth ride, storage basket (is it accessible, how large is it, etc.), recline positions, sunshade, and general feel. DH is also quite a bit taller than me, so that was a factor too.

We anticipate using the City Select for long days out and walks, and the City Mini for quicker trips and when it's just me and the baby.

Wish DS I registered (and received) the Graco Quattro Tour which was a travel system (infant carrier and stroller). Wish I thought about it a little more and read into it. I never realized the stroller was 27 pounds! Talk about a heavy PITA stroller.

I used the Snap N Go with the infant carrier as long as possible. Then after a few uses of the stroller I realized I hated it and wanted something smaller. So once DS was out of the infant carrier (8 months or so) and in the convertible car seat I went and bought the Peg Perego Aria.

It's a lightweight stroller (7lbs), has snack tray and cupholder for DC, and a parent cupholder. It reclines and maneuvers relatively well.

However, was very happy with the Graco infant carrier. Used it until he was around 8 months then put him rear facing in the convertible car seat (we have Britax Roundabout).

Check out the Baby bargains book. Super helpful!

We got the Orbit. It's a car seat and stroller.

When DS got older, we ended up buying the City Mini.

Infant - snugride 30

infant - snug ride 30 - chose this one based on baby bargains and discussions with other people

convertible - britax marathon - the helpful lady at BBB suggested it and based on reviews seemed like a good choice

stroller - Uppa Baby Vista - just loved this stroller and has good reviews - i plan on doing a lot of walking this summer and wanted something with good wheels and something that had a bassinet

we also registered for the city mini as our light weight stroller because it is just awesome and i wanted it too

with my first - i resistered for the graco snugride carseat and because i had a l decent number at my shower i registered and got the convertible seat - but i returned till we needed it - they only have 5 year life span


I got a snap and go frame - we got the mcclaren one because it was the easiest to manuever

I got the bumbleride flyer for my everyday walking stroller - i liked that i could see the baby and i could add a carry cot to make it a pram for less than other strollers - had adjustable handle too which worked with my dh and me

I also registered for a mclaren quest - it is a light weight stroller that i leave in my car after i was done with the snap and go

i have used alll lots

think of the mclaren quest as similar to a city select - i just liked that they sit more upright

So far we know we want the Graco Snugride infant seat and the Graco Metrolite stroller. DH and I inadvertently ended up with a "theme," so we're not getting a travel system because the Snugride I saw fits in with our theme, but doesn't come with a metrolite.

We will register for a convertible car seat as well. I just have no idea what type. We're registering on Sunday at BRU, so we'll check them out.

we registered for the graco snugride 30 and the snug rider frame. we also registered for the city mini. i want to wait on the convertible car seat until the newest baby bargains comes out. we'll probably just buy the convertible ourselves.
