What can you tell me about Glen Cove?

I have never been there, and there are some cute homes on MLS.

The SD looks so-so, but it's around other town's with great SD's.

Any opinions and thoughts ould be helpful! TIAChat Icon

I think that glen cove is a mixed area. it has a very nice part and a not so nice part.

ETA - it can be a PITA to get to.

I lived in Glen Cove by the Sea Cliff area. NOT so hot area. You have Projects there.

Some areas are good but it's on the Northern side and very $$$.

You will spend 15-20 minutes to connect to a big road (LIE or Northern State).

Your 2 main roads out are Glen Cove Rd (packed is you go towards Roosefield Mall on a weekend) or 107 (single lane until you arrive to 106 connection after CW Post).

We live in Glen Cove. I love it for the most part. The only thing is, yes, the neighborhood changes drastically from one area to another and the traffic down GCRd. sometimes is a nighmare!! We have found some great backways to get places now, so it isn't so bad. The one thing that really annoys the crap out of me about GC is the LIRR line! It is always delayed or canceled. I work in NYC so this is huge for me. I always have to drive to Plandome to catch the Port Washington line and I pay over 200 a month for the Oyster Bay line and it always has issues!

This is major! Thank you. Both DH and I would have to commute to NYC everyday. I think I will keep GC towards the bottom of new neighborhoods to explore.
