What can you take....
When you have a bad cough and head cold? I've been feeling lousy since last Friday. Serious nasal congestion and a cough. I've been using Vick's vapor rub each night which my OB said is safe, but need more relief as I'm still not feeling better.....any suggestions?

According to Your Pregnancy week by week:
These are fine:
decongestants: chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton)
nasal spray decongestant: oxymetazoline
(Afrin, Dristan long lasting)
cough: dextromethorphan (Robitussin, Vicks Formula 44)

My OB told me any of the tylenol products are safe but to use the ones specifically for cold sparingly. I would ask our OB though because every doctor feels differently about it.

My Dr. said Robitussen was ok, but only regular, not extra strength. And regular sudafed, not extra strength.
Call the doctors office, whoever answers the phone can probably tell you what is safe.

Thanks girls....I am going to get Robutussen tonight as I can't take this cough anymore....I'm starting to get pains in my stomach and back from coughing so much!

Just make sure it is robotussen with no letters next to it!

Thanks....DH just offered to go to CVS for me. I will make sure he gets the no letters one.
