what can i do for my infant
OK so I started formula on Monday with my 5 week old. Since then he has been so cranky all he does is cry and I know its because he has gas n isn't pooping like normal.. I have given him gripe water and lttle remedies gas relief neither seem to help.. What else can I do? Can it just be the formula is to much for him.. Its Enfamil Newborn?? How long should I give it before I try a new formula????

I would try the gentlease. My DS was not good on the regular formulas

DS cried all the time until we started nutramigen. Even the gentle formula wasn't gentle enough for him. After about a week on nutramigen he was like a different baby. Have you asked your ped? I think the typical progression is regular formula, gentle formula, soy, then allimentum (sp?) or nutramigen. DS doctor just skipped the soy and went straight to nutramigen and it worked for us.

I'm really not sure. We started slowly switching him to nutramigen from the gentle formula but we knew the gentle formula wasn't working because he had been on it a while. The new formula took about a week to kick in which the doctor warned me about so I knew not to expect an immediate change and looser than usual stools. If the new formula does work for him then you'd need to give it more than 3 days to figure out how he's reacting to it but I'd confirm that with your doctor.

I would try Gentlease - it's broken down further so it's easier for them to digest.

Gerber Soothe Probiotic Drops....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
I also used gentlease. I used several different gripe waters and colic calm was the one that worked best, but just an FYI it is black.

Same as all pp. regular formula killed dd's stomach. Switching to gentlease was the cure for us.

We are having luck with the Gerber probiotic drops. We have been sing them for 3 days now and seen a noticeable change in DS.

in started him on gentlease today.
How long would you say till I should start seeing some change in him?? I know the container says 24 hours..

Yes the probiotic we used helped so much as well -- we used culturelle powder packets but same thing lol.

Definitely try the gentler formulas as suggested. Also, one poop a day is normal for formula fed babies.
