When I did a 6th grade leave we read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh and another one that I cannot remember now....let me think about it.

We read Freak the Mighty, Tuck Everlasting and sometimes The Watsons Go to Birmingham.

I cant remember too many from when I did 6th, but I remember:
*Island of the Blue Dolphins
*The Narnia Series
*The Great Gilly Hopkins
*The Cay
(This was several years ago, and so many great pre-teen chapter books have been published since I was in 6th!)
