What are you labor necessities?
I was told by my lamaze instructor to bring two bags. One that you bring during labor, and your other bag should have your pj's, shampoo, etc that you should leave in the car and bring up after delivery.
Other than my chapstick, and ipod, and maybe snacks for dh, what else goes in this bag?

something to pull your hair back, maybe a pair of slippers, glasses, contact case and solution if you wear contacts, camera, video camera, cell phone, maybe something to read

A robe to wear walking around labor and delivery. You will still have the hospital gown on and if they let you get out of bed or roam the halls you will be half naked.

Also a pillow. At our hospital tour, they said they only have one crappy pillow in the L&D rooms. They said we should bring a more comfortable pillow and 2 pillowcases from home.
And a page from your baby book, so the nurses can stamp it with your baby's footprint after birth!

I'd skip the robe and just wear a 2nd gown backwards. They'll be lots of interesting bodily fluids coming out of you get the gown dirty not your robe. 
I second the above poster, bring your own pillow (not a really nice one but anything you bring will be better then the hospital pillows)

I'm bringing the pillow and a throw-away pillow case for the labor bag. I'll put a separate clean pillow case in the hospital stay bag.
I thought the foot stamp idea was so cute too! I'm sure they'd have no problem doing it into a book - just tab the page for them in advance.

I am confused, do you need 2 bags?
Check with your hospital about foot stamps. I know my hospital mentioned at the tour that they will stamp anything you want. Bibs, shirts, paper, etc.
