What are everyone's thoughts on work/school during the storm?
I am a teacher, so of course I always have the "snowday" mindset....but more than that I am thinking about my kids and school. It's going to be a major b!tch to get the kids out of the house and to school and the babysitter in torrential downpours and ridiculous winds. Wonder how bad this is really going to be, and if it will cause schools,. etc, to shut down?

I was thinking about this too. I fear that if it is fine in the morning, once it gets bad, then I am going to have to drive through the storm to get home, get to school to pick up my one DC and get to daycare for the other and being out with them driving around in this. I am going to see what they are saying tomorrow night and maybe just keep everyone home.

I feel the same way. I take the train to brooklyn and my son is in daycare in lindenhurst. Im worried that Im going to have work, then its going to get bad and either the lirr wont be running or his daycare will close early and it takes me too long to get home. ugh

If needed I would only keep the kids out on Tuesday. It sounds like Monday it's going to get worse after the school day is over, so we will just deal with the winds/rain that afternoon. I normally pick them up at 5:30 but will most likely get there an hour earlier.
