WHAT am i doing WRONG???

ugh i'm so frustrated!!!

since october 1, i have been on a 1500 cal/day diet. i have been doing hot yoga 3x per week. i have been walking on my treadmill 3x per week, doing about 4 miles at a 3.5 speed, 2.0 incline. (with 3lb hand weights.) heck, i've even been limiting my dairy intake bc it hurts my tummyChat Icon.

so far, i've only lost 1lb. i can't seem to get under 131. i'm 5'6". granted, i've noticed some great changes in my body, and my clothes are fitting better, but i've never lost weight this slow before!!

do i need to step it up more?

When are you eating? Are you eating too late. I'm pretty convinced this is my biggest issue but everyone's different.

i've been eating a lot of veggies and fruit. from what i can gather, maybe i need to cut the carbs out almost entirely...? i only have 1 cup of coffee per day, and i don't eat after 8pm.

I am no pro but I was wondering what you consume by way of proteins and healthy fats? Are you getting enough of those 2 things? Are you keeping the same diet---maybe your body is stagnant as you are eating the same exact foods consistently. I also find that I do better if I limit my carbs to breakfast and have the full day to kind of work it off. I try not to have carbs after lunch--when I am trying to lose weight.

The biggest issue I see is that you are not doing any strength training. You cannot boost your metabolism long term without putting some muscle on your body. Too much cardio and not enough weights will make your body hold on to energy sources (fat).
Also, make sure you are over hydrating since you are doing hot yoga, dehydration will slow your body down as well.
Try changing your routine up just a bit and see what happens. You always want to keep the body guessing. Hang in there, it'll happen eventually, good luck!

You're body may be comfortable at that weight. Not really my business but 131 is a great weight for 5'6''.

ITA. I think that your weight is perfect for your height and that is why your body is having such a hard time loosing any. I would focus on toning more, maybe that's really all you need! Chat Icon
