What age for cheerios?
At what age did you give your baby cheerios or something to chew on? DD has no teeth yet. Shes 6 months old. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy but I thought I waited for my DS to get a couple of teeth before I gave it to him but I can't remember...it was five years ago..

my dd is 8m and havent given her yet. Im paranoid and scared to give her, i read the box on the puffs and those bars it says when the child is eating lumpier food, and is able to crawl. My dd isnt crawling yet, so im going to wait until 9m and see how i feel then. DD seems to be very happy right now, so no rush for us.

I know many people give them early so it is a matter of comfort level - but my ped said crawling (able to lift belly completely off the floor on hands and knees) and able to pick them up with a pincer grip - then they could get them.
I know the puff container says the same thing on it.
Etd bc I forgot to add - we started at 9 months b/c that was when the ped suggested.

I think we started around 8 months. Same with Puffs. He only has them under supervision and really loves them!

I think we started around 7/8 months. Puffs were good to start with earlier because they disolve.

I just started giving puffs whole (I used to break them) and he is doing good w/them..even tho I'm still a nervious nelly!! DS will be 9mos on 6/8. I'm going to try cheerios this week and maybe break them up at first.

My DS started with broken up puffs at 6 months.
He is 8 MONTHS TODAY! and he gets whole puffs and cheerios, and he feeds himself. He loves them. I was sooooooooo paranoid about choking, but he really was ready. I want though that he has 5 teeth. He had 2 when I started.
