At 15 months Jack had one word. My ped wanted me to call EI but after calling and talking to a coordinator she suggested I wait until 18 months. We set up the eval for a few days after he turned 18 mnths and he qualified. Services started when he was 19 months....at almost 4 he is still getting speech!

DS is 18 months and we have an evaluation next week. I know he will qualify.

He already gets play therapy which has a speech focus, but I want him to have actual speech therapy so I pushed for an evaluation.

13 months. We tried at 10 months but were told it is really hard at that age bc they are being compared to kids 6-12 months and since 6 month olds arent expected to have speech yet, it is really difficult. I was told that she definately needed it and to have her re-evaluated a day after her 1st b-day and she would qualify b/c at that point she would be compared to kids 12-18 months. That is what I did and she qualified. Services started right around 13 months.

Both of my children were 15 months.
