Westchester
Is there such a thing as affordable neighborhoods close to MetroNorth in Westchester?

Re: Westchester
What do you consider "affordable"? I think Westchester is more expensive than LI, and the taxes tend to be more as well. But the further you get from the city, the lower the prices will get. Thus upper Westchester will be less expensive than lower Westchester. If you wanted to look into Putnam, the prices there are lower (and seem to have been dropping) but if you commute to Manhattan it may be rough. I live in Putnam.

Re: Westchester
I recently posted about Westchester. Some people mentioned some areas that were affordable.

to get something in lower westchester at that price would be hard and if you did find something it would need to be redone. You would have more luck if you did what the other poster said and went north a bit or even look in CT. My parents are in Newtown CTand ita a 60 mile drive to the city but they have metro north and you can get an amazing house for 600k up that way. If you have any questions let me know.
