West Nile Spraying/veggie garden?

This is my first veggie garden and I wanted to know if its safe to eat my vegetables after the west nile spraying that's been happening.

When do you plan to eat them? If you're not going to eat them for a few days or so, I would think they are just fine. Just be sure to wash all of your vegetables before eating as you normally would. The chemicals they use break down very quickly in sunlight and water. Between the light your garden gets and the daily watering, it should be just fine. As always, though, thoroughly wash all vegetables before eating.

ETA -- You can also call the New York State Department of Health's toll-free Environmental Health Information Line at 1-800-458-1158, extension 27530 to ask about how long you need to wait to eat homegrown fruits and veggies after they spray with Scourge.
