West Coast Trips

For those who have traveled to the west coast, how old were your LOs? How did they handle the time change?

DH and I are dying to get out to the west coast, but I am so concerned about the time change. My DD wakes up 6AM every day. I am afraid this will mean a 3AM wake up in CA. Even if we work on acclimating her, three hours is a lot.

Any feedback?

My twins were about 18m. They did really well considering! I have early wakers as well. For a few days they were up at 4 but slept in our bed till 6 or 7

We went in October - they were about 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. They did fine on the plane and adjusted fine to the time difference. We did Disneyland, so it worked well that they got up early. They would nap midday and then stay up until around 9. DH and I went for dinner with them sleeping in the stroller after we left the parks. My kids are very flexible though and tend to go to sleep and wake up late.

I went when DD was 9 months old. I don't think she even noticed a time change. She went right to bed each night around 8 or 9 (slightly later than usual) and got up around 7 (her normal time) - all times in CA time.
