We're home from our cruise
We left from Baltimore (which was under a 4 hour drive) so unfortunately the weather the first two days were not so good.
If you are thinking of going on a cruise with kids, Carnival is the way to go. Their Camp Carnival is amazing. It's for ages 2 and up though so there wasn't much for Tyler to do. I didn't think I would drop Jack off at the Camp as much as we did (mostly every morning for almost two hours) but he loved going. They had great activities. If we cruise again we will make sure to go when all kids can utilize the camp. I also will only go out of Florida to ensure the weather is always good.
The cruise went to Disney and the Bahamas. Disney was Jacks dream come true. He met Woody, Buzz, Jessie, all of the Mickey Mouse characters. We had a couple of issues with the rides breaking down right when we got to the front of the line, but it was fine.
Unfortunately Jack had a horrible case of hives that started a few days before we left, and they only got worse. He also got the horrible stomach virus on Tuesday. It was so terrible, but the infirmary gave him a suppository and that really helped out alot.
I then got the stomach virus on Thursday so DH and my parents took the boys to the Atlantis without me so that I could rest. I don't think I slept like that in 3.5 years. My mom got it on the last night, so it was really a rough go for us.
All in all, it was a great trip with my family. Everyone loved spending time with the boys, and they were in their glory.
I don't have that many pictures because well, we were sick for half of the trip, and the other half of the pictures are blurry because my dad was taking them with his hat on so the flash wasn't working
Jack was really pretty fresh on this trip, but I'm assuming he just wasn't himself with the hives and the stomach virus. Tyler was able to go in the pool even though he was in swim diapers, there were TONS of kids on the cruise and I don't think any of them knew about this rule.
So it's back to business as usual. Starting up Weight Watchers today (the one good thing about getting the stomach virus is that I didn't gain any weight) school for Jack, and lots of laundry to do.
Thanks to everyone who helped answer my questions about cruising with kids along the way.
This is the one pic I have of my sleeping angels!

Re: We're home from our cruise
Glad to hear the cruise and disney was fun! Unfortunately leaving from Florida isn't always better - the only place we have had good success from was San Juan. Florida can also be rough.
Sorry to hear about the hives and stomach flu - hope he is better
Can't wait to see some pics!

Glad you all are feeling better and you all had a grreat time.
I heard great things about kids camp on cruises..definitely going to look into one.
Disney must have been so magical for you all. Did you cry? I cry just thinking about my kids reaction.

Let's just say, thank goodness for sunglasses.
I cried twice. We caught a show at the castle, and then the parade. The words to the songs are real tearjerkers!

Re: We're home from our cruise
Welcome home! I am so sorry that you were sick. We had the stomach bug new years weekend and I remember how miserable we all felt. I am glad that you were able to sleep and relax a little bit. Having sailed out of NY and NJ I think that the weather really is a major factor in how calm (or not) the seas will be. We traveled the same week in different years and one was fantastic and the other .
