Went for the Strep B test
It wasn;t bad at all. I just feel awkward anythime anybody has to touch/ see me NEKID!
Does anyone know how long it takes to get my results back? Dr did an internal at the same time- not dillated/effaced. He said the baby's head is measuring big and he wants to do another sono if his head isn't down and still floating in 2 weeks. I REALLY DON'T WANT A C SEC! Oh well- who knows, I can't do anything about it any way!

Re: Went for the Strep B test
depends on how fast the lab is, I found out 3 days later. By the way you don't need to have a c-section if you're positive. You do however have to get the hospital as soon as your water breaks if it comes to that. They will hook you up to an IV of antibiotics for it. Do you have extra fluid (you said baby's head is not down and is floating). I did - my fluid wasn't too over the top (32 I think?) but that's why I had a planned c-section. The ob didn't want my water breaking because of all the fluid that would gush out. It really wasn't that bad and with a planned c-section you don't have to get the IV of antibiotics. Good luck!!

Thanks- I know that Strep B doesn't mean a C sec. The Dr. is just concerned that baby's head is measuring big and I might not have a large enough pelvis. SO they'll wait and see if he drops down on his own or they'll do a sono to see if it's because his head's too big for my pelvis.

Re: Went for the Strep B test
Thanks! I guess I'd rather find out I needed a c ahead of time, rather than go through thirty hours of labor and then they tell me.
