Well we've been off the bottle for 1 full week
she's fine with seeing one and doesn't freak out. So I think we are done, BUT she still won't take anymore than a few sips of milk out of the cup
We've been "tough loving" it and not offering any liquids other than milk ALL day...she just won't budge. She woke up crying last night so I gave her a cup of water and she chugged it and slept with it (She would NOT give it back)
Do you think it just takes time or she just will never be a milk drinker? How long do I keep this "no liquids" but milk thing up?
Funny thing is she LOVES her soy yogurt and soy cheese and her cereal with soy milk. Weird huh?

I think she will start to chug her milk sippys after she gets more used to them. That's what Ryan did, he would only sip from them at first but now downs them. I do give him milk w/snack at 3:00 to make sure he drinks enough, but Dr. said if he eats yogurt/cheese not to worry too much about the milk.

Jodi, stick with it! I am not sure how long Hannah will boycott milk but she will come around. Just make sure you are giving her the other things that you mentioned to replace the missing calcium....soy yogurt, soy cheese....I want to say even calcium fortified juice.

totally natural...when we cut out Antonio's 3 bottles he forgot about milk completely! Now he only drinks water...about 5 sippy cups a day...and we give him water to take with him to bed.
He is on a milk strike...it's fine though he eats yogurt and cheese.

I hope so!! She's GREAT with the cup and water so I know she's capable.
Do you use different cups for milk and water or the same cups?

olivia was the same way she wouldnt drink milk for 1 month. i bought the drinkable yobaby yogurts and 1/2 them with milk she was obsessed with crazy straws and straws so once she saw the cute bottle she wanted it. we used that once in a while now we are back on the sippy. dh drilled a hole in the a couple of the lids so the straw fits and doesnt leak.

Corinne the yogurt is a GREAT idea, but DD is milk allergic I have yet to find a drinkable non-dairy soy yogurt
She's good with a straw sippy, but is clueless what to do with a real straw

i think stonyfields makes adrinkable soy yogurt. prncss rachel would know becuase of ava's milk allergy.

Soy yogurts come in a variety of flavors including blueberry, strawberry, Key lime, peach, raspberry, cherry, vanilla, and lemon. Silk, Whole Soy, and Trader Joe's are the best brands available. Whole soy also produces a calcium-enriched drinkable soy yogurt.

Thanks Corinne I give her Whole Soy yogurt, never saw the drinkable one's. I'll have to track some down!!
