DH is turning 40 in a few weeks and has been whining that all he wants is to vegetate at a Club Med with the girls. Sandpiper is going through an amazing renovation right now and offering killer deals for the grand opening so I just booked a 5 day vacation in January as a suprise gift for him.

Alex is going to be out-of-her-mind excited!! She LOOOOOOOOVES that place and asks when we're going back nearly every day!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

This sounds great! Have a wonderful time!

Do the girls really have a great time? What is there for them to do? We usually end up doing Disney for DH's vacation since he gets Jan or Feb but would love something else to consider one year

Re: Well, I did it. I just booked Sandpiper again

Sorry ladies, I was offline for a while... to answer the questions - we leave 1/27 and are there for a few days, so Summergirl we'll be there when you're there!

The girls have the time of their life, seriously. Alex STILL talks about it - they have an infant center and a kids camp, and both are absolutely PHENOMENAL. Alex was in camp everyday from 9-5pm - you could see her little group walking around the resort singing songs, it was adorable. The whole resort is geared towards the kids - the "GO's" are really just counselors, and there's at least 2 per bunk.

As for activities - they had scavenger hunts, pool time, music shows, pirate shows, bymnastics, aerobatics, carnival shows, everything... the daycare/camp is right in the middle of the resort so you can check on the kids frequently and will see them out and about all the time.

Alex loved it so much that she never wanted to stay with us for any of the meals - they offer the option for the kids to eat lunch and dinner with their "bunk" and after dinner the counselors walk the kids over to the evening show, which is always geared towards the kids. Most days we didn't see her from 9am-9pm at night.

For Yael, our last trip, she was in the infant center, which really is top notch. We have been there 4 times now and we've never had an issue with the care. They even offer "twilight" care, from 6pm-midnight, though we never used it. For the bigger kids they have pajamas and movies, whille mom and dad can go have their own fun.

I really love the place, and I cannot wait to see how it looks now that it's gone through extensive renovations, because my only complaint was that the buildings were aged...

Do you book through the website?
I wonder if they'll have deals at the end of May.

No, I always call to book because they usually end up upgrading me to a better room for the same price listed on the website. I booked a family deluxe room, which is two adjoining bedrooms with two baths, for the same price as one... but you can get an idea for prices by going to the website and making tentative reservations
