Weird sensation when flexing abs
I am 32w pregnant and noticed that I get a weird sensation when I flex my abs - for example, if I'm laying on the couch and flex my abs in order to get back up. It feels almost like an electric shock or a spasm or something. I read up on Braxton-Hicks contractions and it doesn't really sound like them (incidentally, I have not had any BH contractions yet) so I'm not sure what to make of it. Anyone else have this?

Re: Weird sensation when flexing abs
It could be diastasis recti. You probably want to log roll to your side and shimmy up with your hands when getting up from a lying down position. When sitting in a chair or on a couch, put a pillow behind you and use the arm rest for suport. Try getting up without contracting your abdominals. BH feels like uterine spasms not abdominal.... Do you have any pain? Have you looked at you stomach when activating your Abs, do you notice the muscle bulging outward?
