weird results from post coital
Has anybody ever heard of this before?
2 cycles ago when we first went for our re consult we had to do a post coital test and semen analysis. the semen analysis was done first and dh has normal sperm. then the post coital test was done and when they looked they couldn't find any sperm in my cm. so they repeated the test this time closer to ovulation and again they couldn't find one sperm living in my cm. they didn't seem concerned but i'm just wondering why that could happen and if anyone had this or heard of this before.

could they not be concerned because they are doing IUI and the sperm bypasses any CM? sounds weird to me too

It means your CM kills DH's sperm. This would help explain why you haven't been able to get PG naturally.
IUI will bypass this problem so they aren't concerned.

they were planning on doing iui even before they did the post coital. i have had 2 failed iui's and i am starting my 3rd.
i know i need to ask the doctor this, but is there a reason the cm is killing the sperm. is there anything that can be done, or is iui the only answer?

I would search hostile cervical mucous. Also you can try Preseed as it mimics EWCM. Also there are dietary changes you can make it's usually related to acidity and alkilinity(sp?)

I have actually tried pre seed and it didn't work either. i tried searching a little about hostile cervical mucous, but i have to do more. i want to find out if there is anything i can do, like diet to help. thanks for the help.

Happened to me to. Clomid and other drugs can actually dry up your CM. Totally normal. IUIs bypass this -- I am due any minute now and a grad from the IF board. Not a big deal!

great to hear you are now pregnant. i hadn't been on any fertility medications at the time of the post coital. this was one of the first things the RE did. hopefully I'll be in your boat soon.
