Weight Gain normal?

It's not impossible to hit 30 max. I think alot of us are going up and down these days because of the ridiculous heat and humidity -- and the swelling, bloating etc that goes along with it. I'm up about 12 at 21w1d but my weight is fluctuating. Last night I weighed 2 lbs less than I did the day before.

Weight Gain normal?

I wouldn't stress it. If the doctor feels that you are gaining too much she will definitely tell you. Did you have MS? I know a lot of people lose weight in the beginning because they are too sick to keep anything down. I never had any MS and have been gaining since the beginning. I'm 19 weeks and up 16 pounds - my doctor said it's fine.

I think it varies greatly from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. I'm almost 15 weeks and I've gained 2.5 lbs. With my first pregnancy at 15 weeks I had gained 5 pounds. Here is a link to a weight tracker I used this time and last time. It gives you an idea of where you are in terms of how much you are on track to gain. Weight Tracker

Re: Weight Gain normal?

I never lost weight and have gained consistently this entire pregnancy. Last week at 24 weeks I was up about 23 lbs. DH even said with the dr. in the room "do you wanna ask the dr about your weight gain?" and the dr. shushed him. Until someone in the medical field tells me I have gained too much, I am just fine with what my body is deciding to do for my baby.

Re: Weight Gain normal?

The suggested weight gain is just an average guideline. I'm up about 45lbs so far and 33wks. My doctors are not at all concerned.

Up until 28w or so I had only put on 16lbs. I don't know what happened from week 28 to week 33, but I am now up 23lbs.
I even started the GD diet, started eating healthier, and am sometimes feeling hungry.
It's like I just exploded.

I stopped weighing in every week at 33 weeks when I hit 40 lbs.

I don't 'work out' anymore but I am still fairly active. If I'm hungry... I eat. If I want something that's kind of splurge-y ... I eat it. But I have never once sat down and ate monstrous portions like I always envisioned myself doing.

You're going to gain what you're going to gain. I know very few people who only gained the 25-35 lbs that is 'normal.' Normal my a$$.

Eat when you're hungry. Try to keep active and make sure you're getting the healthy stuff into you're diet -- but don't feel bad about having some junky stuff to. You're pregnant. You get a pass.

This 100%. I stopped weighing myself too, I really just wait for my dr appts. It is what it is ... Knowing the weight won't change anything, it's not like I can go on a diet. Chat Icon

^ I don't even look at the scale at my appointments anymore and I tell them not to tell me.

They told me at the beginning and as I was nearing that 35 lb mark to TRY to stay there but .. whatever, past that... they've just said 'your weight's fine.'

A few weeks ago I was surprised to see I had only gained 2 or 3 pounds since my last appt. To celebrate, I went home and had some cake Chat Icon

I am just about the same except a few more weeks and a few more lbs Chat Icon

My doctors haven't said anything. I'm not swollen, and the weight is really all in my stomach so I'm not sure what more I could do. My mom gained 60 lbs with me and says she was back in her regular pants after a month. Here's to hoping!
