weight gain at the end
Throughout my pregnancy iv gained about 20lbs (a big improvement from the 60 I gained the first time lol) most months I only gained a 2-3 lbs. Now I'm 36w and going weekly, in a week I gained 3lbs! I can notice it too, underwear I've be wearing are now too tight, my work scrubs are getting tight, not in my belly but my hips and thighs. So my question is... is it normal to start gaining a lot at the end? I'm glad my dr is gonna induce me at 39w, that's a few lbs less I'll have to lose in the end lol

Re: weight gain at the end
I too was doing so good with the weight gain. I was only up 20 lbs at 6 months - which was good since I gained 70lbs with DS
I am 37 weeks and up 30lbs. I have been gaining about 2-3 lbs each month. It's still not as bad as with DS but still, I really wanted to stay under 30lbs.
I am going to try my hardest to watch what I eat these next few weeks, not sure how well that will work with the holidays though

Re: weight gain at the end
At the end, you're retaining a lot of water as well as the baby gaining more weight, so I think the end of pregnancy weight gain is a bit deceiving. Don't get too stressed - the end is near and you've worked really hard your whole pregnancy to keep your weight in check!

ITA! I feel like I've had bigger gains in the past few weeks than I've had most of my pregnancy. I'm up about 25 total. Water retention is much more common and the baby really puts on some weight. BUT I remember with DD1, dropping about 2 lbs at my last appt, which I hear is common, too.

Are you retaining water even if your not swollen at all? Neither my ankles or fingers or anything is swollen so I figured I wasn't retaining. Also, isn't it weird that I'm not swollen? Lol I never swelled with dd either and I throught everyone does

i don't think it's weird - consider yourself lucky! my only footwear options that still fit on my swollen feet for my remaining month are slippers, uggs, sneakers or flip flops. none of those options look good at a holiday party or a business meeting! haha
