Weight gain
So I went to the Dr today and they weighed me and I can't believe how much I've gained! Wasn't expecting 21 pounds! I'm 6.5 months. My Dr. Wasn't concerned but I feel like I should be because I'm going to gain a lot more ! What were everyone's else's numbers around this time??
Even though I was not diagnosed with GD I asked for the diet plan and I think I'm going to start right away lol I go for my one hour glucose next week; fingers crossed.

Re: Weight gain
I gained more than that at 6.5 months and my doctors were not concerned. You should not be on a GD diet if you do not have GD- or any diet. Pregnancy is a time to make smart choices and eat healthily but your body will gain what it needs for your growing baby.

I think that was my thought process; I'm prob just gonna use it to make better choices; Like a guide. :) I agree with you though to not be fully on a diet, just wanna really be more mindful I guess. It's so easy to eat like crap lol

Re: Weight gain
Im pretty sure I gained more than that by 6.5 months with my first. Don't worry, it comes off after you have the baby.

Re: Weight gain
Did you start off thin to begin? I gained about that much around 6 1/2 months too, but I was pretty thin to begin with. Don't worry about it if your Dr. Is not concerned.

I gained 90% of my weight in the first 2/3 of my pregnancy.
You should def not be following a GD diet if you don't need to. Instead of chips etc pick fruits and veggies. If you already are then I would not change a thing.
I believe that you gain what you gain and you can eat perfect and still gain a substantial amount. It is what it is and unless your dr put you in a diet now is not the time to worry about a # on the scale.

I'm sorry but it is preposterous for you to follow a GD diet if you don't have GD. You should not be concerned at all with that gain, and dieting should be the last thing you worry about while pregnant.

I would just like to clarify I AM NOT DIETING!!! I just wanted to use the GD info as a guide for making better choices. Ah, I didn't think I'd get this much slack on this post. I just wanted to see if I'm in the normal range of gaining weight as this is my first and have nothing to compare. I know I can def eat better... So that's really all i wanted to do.. Thanks for everyone's responses but I think good now; lol

Weight gain
I go next week for my 7 month so I will let you know but I could imagine ill be around there. As for the GD diet.... It's a different/healthy way of eating, not weight watchers or starting a weight lifting routine lol It's mostly veggies and protein...I think it's fine! If I could eat like that I would and I do try for the most part but the past couple of weeks being nauseous is back in full force. Besides as long as you are getting nutrients that's all that matters. I knew what you are saying lol

I didn't read your post as if you were starting a crash diet. I totally get what you're saying. And if it makes you feel better, my doctor said it would be beneficial for many pregnant women to eat a GD diet. A lot of people consume far too many starches, sugars and refined foods than is healthy for anyone, GD or not.

Re: Weight gain
Don't sweat it. I gained more than that at that stage for sure.
Eat what you want and just do so in moderation. Try to stay as active as you can. But your gaining weight for LO so don't worry.

Re: Weight gain
Don't worry so much. I gained 60lbs when I was pregnant. Now DS is 8 months and I'm lost that 60lbs PLUS an extra 10lbs. Your body does it has to.

The GD "diet" is actually a very healthy way to eat during pregnancy, and is not meant for weight loss. So, it's not going to harm the baby or you by following it. So, go for it. You will be better for it.

Re: Weight gain
I am 28 weeks and I gained about 23 lbs. I have been making very good food choices, not a ton of fast food at all, so I'm not worried. As long as you're making good choices don't sweat it!

I gained 60lbs with my son. Now I'm 16w and up 10lbs. My last pregnancy I was up 20something lbs at 20wks. And 40lbs at 30wks. Looks like I'm on the same track.
