Weight Gain
Last night I went to the doctor and at 25 weeks I've gained 30 pounds-10 of which was in the past 4 weeks. The girl made me get on the scale twice because she thought it was wrong.
I know I should not be concerned about my weight during this whole thing but I am. And the doctor said I need to slow down. I was maybe 5-10 pounds overwight pre-pregnancy so I shouldn't have gained this much. I know you should not diet while pregnant but is there anything I can do to prevent the weight from creeping up so quickly? I already watch what I eat and thought I was doing ok.

Weight Gain
i know that they say that if you are overweight before you become pregnant you should gain less and that if you are underweight before pregnancy you should gain more. with that said, every person is different and you have to trust your body to know what it is doing in order to help your baby grow. i don't mean to pig out and gorge on everything you see, but if you are already eating healthy and watching what you eat, i wouldn't worry too much about this. Also, 5-10 pounds overweight before you became pregnant doesn't consitute as overweight to me, IMO

Re: Weight Gain
I had two months in a row where I put on 9 pounds. The dr's spoke to me about it and was telling me I had to slow down too.
I started walking 45 minutes a day and i just cut out eating too much salty foods and now Im gaining btwn 3 and 4 pounds/month. I think that little bit of change really helped.
Dont stress too much about it though. Enjoy and lose it when the baby comes

Re: Weight Gain
I think I am trending in a similar way. I had the same thought as you and what I am doing is just trying to cut out sweets - I have to admit I have been overdoing it and focusing on eating healthy snacks like fruits and veggies. I am going to try to pick up my activity level too.
Good luck - some people don't gain evenly, so it could be that you gain much less in the next few weeks so that it evens out in the end.
I would just say make sure you aren't denying yourself food if you are hungry. You need to eat healthy proteins, calcium, veggies, fruits, etc.

While you cannot diet you can make sure you are eating healthy foods. I woudl cut out junk and replace with fruits and veggies.
I am a believer of your body will gain what you need. I gained all my weight in the first 25 weeks. After that I only gained a few more pounds even though that is when the baby gains the most so you just never know how the weight gain is distributed throughout your pregnancy. I wouldn't worry too much just try and make healthy choices.

Thanks ladies. I already eat very healthy so I am going to try walking every night at least a mile. Hopefully this helps.

Re: Weight Gain
I'm the same as you- I eat healthy and walk every day. I don't go crazy or overdo it but I'm gaining weight very quickly. I'm 28 weeks and up almost 40lbs. I'm letting my body do what is natural. I think at a certain point there just isn't anything else you can do. If your body and the baby want to gain weight, they will.

Do not stress about it! I guarantee a lot is water retention. Watch your salt intake.
