Weight Gain
I know they say every pregnancy is different - but I am sooo much fatter this time! I gained about 25 lbs during my last pregnancy. I'm already up 10 lbs and I'm only 17 weeks. Urgh! Just wanted to vent.

your body knows what it has to do in order to support this baby. i'm not saying to eat anything in front of you but remember that weight can always come off. just focus on being healthy & happy!

Re: Weight Gain
I know the feeling. I'm only 14 weeks and am up 5 pounds. I wouldn't mind if it went all to my belly but it all goes to my inner thighs and glutes.

YES! That's me - I'm just wider all around but no real belly. I would love to take walks, which is my usual form of exercise but my body can't tolerate the humidity!

Re: Weight Gain
I'm almost 17 weeks (16w5d) and was up 10lbs at my appt last night. My OB didn't seem concerned by it. I can still fit my regular clothes expect for in the waist/stomach area. Have you been exercising?

That's me, only difference is that I do workout and yet can't manage to keep things together. Yesterday I bought a pair of jeans which fit me great with enough room for growth. This morning I tried them on and I could barely breathe.

No - I need to exercise, I think it would help me feel better!

Re: Weight Gain
10 lbs at 17 w is about where I was too. I'm up at least 13lbs (but haven't been weighed in two weeks) at 23 weeks. And I'm just so much bigger this time too. As per my mom, the muscles remember what to do and just stretch out faster each time. If we go for a third, I'm going to be in maternity clothes the morning after I get pg!

Re: Weight Gain
I gained 62 with my first pregnancy (I was fairly skinny pre-pregnancy). All but 6-8 pounds came off before I got pregnant again 14 months later. The first 30-40 very quickly. Don't worry - you cant control your body. I ate well and it still happened. Just focus on carrying your baby now - you will get back into shape later.

Re: Weight Gain
That's NOT bad! The weight gain will probably fluctuate throught the 40 weeks and your body is doing what it needs to do.

Re: Weight Gain
I am 15 weeks and my pants are just getting tighter. I feel like I haven't gained that much maybe 5 or so pounds. Everyone is different and your body is doing what it needs to, to help your baby grow.
I know it is frustrating but like some other girls said on here, its just weight and you will take it off :)

10 pounds in 17 weeks is not bad at all. You are almost half way through your pregnancy!! Dont beat yourself up. There are people out there who have gained much more by this point!!

Re: Weight Gain
I had gained the same by week 17, now I'm 26 weeks and I've only gained 15. Don't worry yet. It might level off.

I dont remember what I gained by that point, but at 38 weeks I'm up 30 lbs and I put a HUGE BULK of that on during my second trimester. Everyone gains weight differently. If you're dr isn't concerned yet, I wouldnt be too concerned

I'm almost 13wks and I'm up 6lbs so far. Don't watch your scale. Your doc will tell you if you have anything to worry about
Oh...and I aleady look 5 months pregnant! No kidding with showing faster the second time around!
