weight
James is 26 months old and only weighs 22 lbs. He is 31 1/2 inches tall. I know that he is on the small side. But I'm really concerned that he isn't gaining weight. He was 18lbs on his 1st birthday and has only gained 4lbs since then.
I know so many babies who are less than a yr old and weigh more than him.
He eats 3 meals a day and at least 2 snacks. He doesn't eat the portions that I see other babies and toddlers eat...but he does eat.
I'm so worried about him...does anyone else have a similiar sitiation

Re: weight
Right there with you girl...that's why we're seeing all these darn specialists.
Has the ped suggested he see an endo or G.I. Specialist for some testing?
How are you feeling? Hope to see you next week

Re: weight
Jack will be 2 on Oct 19 and he weighs about 24 pounds soaking wet! He is also about 38 inches. He is tall and skinny. I used to worry about him being so skinny since he fell off the weight charts at about 18 months! But he eats alot, is growing and developing and he is just a skinny kid. Try to not worry too much

The last time we went to the dr, James saw one of the nurse practioners...I was thinking of calling tomorrow and insist on an appointmnet with Dr. Rivera....since he is more familiar with preemies and their development...after all that is why I chose this practise in the 1st palce.
feeling ok...just getting nervous as I near the 25 wk mark. Let me know if Tues or Wed of next week is good for you and GF.

Re: weight
Sidney is 15 months and 18 lbs. Her allergist worries about her weight and wants her to get an endoscopy to see for sure if she has food allergies. The Ped wasn't too worried cause he sees how Sidney doesn't like to sit still and thinks she just burns it off. Although he did once mention seeing an endocrinologist. Haven't yet.
She also eats 3 meals and 2 snacks. Very small portions.

Re: weight
I know that as long as their percentages on the height and weight charts are consistent all along, then they are fine. If he was 90% for weight at 1 year and then only 25% at 2 year, I think they would be a concern. Has he been the same percentages? And I think because he was such a preemie, he will always be on the smaller side, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I on the other had, have a 32 lb 2 year old and he's darn heavy to lift!
