Weekend getaway in CT

Looking for a weekend getaway for DH and I in CT. Looking at the casinos. Anyone have any good recommendations on where to stay that is clean. Hotels skeeve me and my last hotel stay was VERY traumatizing. But DH and I need a kid free weekend. I was looking at Mohegan sun. I want something with a spa and good food :) Any suggestions? TIA!

The inn at Norwich! It has a great spa and it's a 5 min cab ride to Mohegan.

I like Foxwoods. We usually stay at the MGM (I think it has a different name now). I've been to the spa at Foxwoods multiple times and have always been pleased. And there's a ton of restaurants.

Mohegan Sun.
Tbe hotel is very nice and I am picky.
Great restaurants and a big selection.
Nice bars and lounges.
Great spa.
Good little shopping area too.
Love, love, love it.
They are opening a brand new hotel tower soon too. Within the next few months

Are they really? We are looking to go December. I wonder if it'll be open yet. My last resort stay was so traumatizing I think something brand new would be best for me Chat Icon

Re: Weekend getaway in CT

We just returned today from the Saybrook Point Inn and loved it. I surprised my DH for his bday and I was nervous bc he's a hotel snob and he loved it and we plan to return. It's on the water. No beach but it has an indoor and outdoor pool. There is a spa. They also loan bicycles and it looked like a great area to go for a ride, we just didn't have time,
