Weekend Away with DD

We're going upstate for a weekend in 2 weeks with DD. It'll be the first weekend we'll be out of the house overnight. We're bringing the pack n play for DD to sleep in, even though the hotel has a porter crib.

Any pointers of things we should bring (other than change of clothes, diapers galore, bottles/etc...). I have a feeling our car is going to be packed to the brim for just 2 nights away. lol

ETA: DD is 9 months old

Re: Weekend Away with DD

Is there a kitchen? Bring some dish soap and a sponge to clean the bottles, pouches of food, antibacterial wipes to wipe down stuff in the room that your DD will touch and most likely put her mouth on.
Love those powder dispensers for powdered formula. I'd bring two of those if you use them so you don't have to worry about making them all day. Also those puffs containers they can hold and take out some without making a mess. I love a lot of the take and toss stuff like bowls and sippy cups. Always good for vacations.
Remember you can always go to a store if you forgot anything so don't go too nuts, but also don't forget the baby Advil.

I would recommend bringing Bendryl too. I know the first time we had our little guy in a hotel he would not sleep for anything. We didn't think to bring Benedryl but if I had it, I might've given him some since the next day he (and us) were all so tired it out a damper on the day.

And yes, your car will be packed. Chat Icon

Thanks for the tips. DD is still being BF so it'll be interesting how she handles that with so many new scenes to distract her with. Smart call about the dish soap and the antibacterial wipes. I'm not sure if there is a kitchen - I hope so because I'll need somewhere to store milk that I will pump. Oh, I have a feeling this is going to be very interesting! LOL

I would call the hotel and request a small fridge/freezer in your room. Most hotels can accommodate that

You might find she'll go longer stretches between nursing b/c she might be pre-occupied with everything new around her. I know my DS is like that! Try sitting in the hotel room with her and getting a good nursing session in before you head out. I aslo agree about bringing your soap/brush. Contact the hotel if they don't have a fridge in the room; they can store the milk for you in the hotel refrigerator. My friend did that when she was away; and I arranged for my hotel to do the same but we had a fridge that suprisingly kept my milk very cold and stored enough. Definitely any tylenol/motrin etc in case she gets a fever and a thermometer. I basically leave my house with everything we use on a daily baisis and anything I think he might possible need. Are you packing a bath tub?
