Wednesday is the day!
For my ER, this is my very first time and I'm scared to be put to sleep!!! What can I expect?
I triggered tonight, took lupron, and a much lower dose of follistim. I am to take advil 3 tabs every 8 hours, no food or water after midnight tomorrow. I can't believe I am going to be put to sleep, I am soooo nervous about this and only this!
Other than that I feel good! Sooo weird but I think the lupron and follistim combo is working for me lol. I feel like I look better than normal...skin nice and clear hair shiny and I'm not bloated.
I have lots of follicles on both sides too.
So does anyone have tips or hints? How was the ER part? I am scared to wake up and act like a damnn fool, I know some people curse and act crazy. DH said one time he woke up and was hitting on the nurse saying inappropriate things.
Also what is a 5 day transfer if ER is wed, would that be Sun or Mon?
Thanks!

I was so nervous my first time....I am starting a new cycle today...and I am just as nervous.
It is just a mind game...bring something to read before....and breathe deep. You will be ok!

Good luck!!!!
You are only under for about 20 minutes so you wont have any neausea or anything. I was put under for a few minutes for an endoscopy and it was like a nice little rest.

Re: Wednesday is the day!
getting put out for the ER is NOTHING. at mine they first did the IV then they put something through to relax me, but not put me out. whatever that was made it soo much better, although i dont have a problem with anesthesia anyway. about 5 mins after that they put in whatever makes you fall asleep.
youre out for such a short time youll be fine when you wake up. maybe a little woozy but honestly the whole thing is really easy and fairly painless. you'll be fine. good luck!

Re: Wednesday is the day!
its normal to be anxious! My ER went very well, i think the whole procedure took about 20-30mins. I woke up easily and had some cramping which went away right after they gave me 2 Tylenol. After about 5mins of rest I was ready to leave!
Try to relax and have confidence that they know what they are doing.
good luck!!

Re: Wednesday is the day!
Thanks that all makes me feel a bit better. I am about 40m from the city where I'm going and so I'm scared of being really sick or having a bad reaction, I guess the unknown. But I'm excited to see how many eggs they get too! And I'm happy a 5 day transfer would be Monday because I am off work. I'm so lucky this all fell on my vacation week!
Anything special that I should do the next 5 days? Like eat or drink or anything I should avoid?

Re: Wednesday is the day!
I woke up crying in pain but that was just me. I was a lot more sore then anticipated. I too was able to have all the procedures done on days off and I really think it helped with the stress level.
I would avoid heavy lifting and heavy exercise, your ovaries will still be swollen.
Oh and GOOD LUCK!

Re: Wednesday is the day!
Good Luck. I was so nervous the day of my retrieval that I was shaking uncontrollably! It turned out it was really nothing..the atmosphere was way more iintimidating than anything else. All I remember is walking in the ER and waking up in recovery. The rest of the day I laid on the couch and slept on and off most of the day. The day after I was still a little sore, but I returned to work and just took it easy.
Good Luck
